The KNVB Board of Commissioners for professional football has appointed Eric Gudde to the post of director of the professional football association. The current managing director of Feyenoord Rotterdam will take up his duties with the Royal Netherlands Football Association on 7 November.

Eric Gudde: "This is a wonderful and honorable position in a great organisation. Working together with all football clubs, referees, trainers and players, the KNVB is responsible for moving Dutch football forward and, especially, for bringing all those involved together. Assisted by KNVB staff, I’m very happy to contribute to this. I look forward to starting work [at KNVB headquarters, ed] in Zeist in November, but until the end of this month, I remain fully focused on Feyenoord."

Gudde was appointment by the new Board of Commissioners on the recommendation of the KNVB selection board and after coordination with the KNVB works council and the Central Players Council.
