The Netherlands will play all three of their Women’s EURO 2017 group matches in front of a capacity crowd. Earlier this week, the news came that tickets for the opening match against Norway and the derby against Belgium are no longer available. Now, the third match, against Denmark at Het Kasteel Stadium in Rotterdam has also been completely sold out.

We’re hoping to give the record back to Enschede at the EURO final

Before ticket sales started ahead of this summer’s UEFA women’s championship finals, the record number of visitors for a women's match in the Netherlands stood at 15,637. That was the crowd at a Champions League match between FC Twente and Barcelona at the Grolsch Veste Stadium in Enschede.

"The record has already been broken by the EURO opener, which will be attended by over 23,000 fans. We hope to give it back to Enschede at the final on 6 August," says tournament director Bert van Oostveen.

Biggest ever Euros

With a total of sixteen teams competing in 31 matches, WEURO 2017 will be the biggest UEFA Women's EURO ever held. Tickets are still available for the remaining 28 matches. Four matches will be played in Rotterdam, for example: Italy will take on Russia at Het Kasteel Stadium on 17 July, followed by Scotland vs Portugal on Sunday, 23 July. Iceland and Switzerland are next on July 26 to play their last group match. And finally, the quarterfinals will be played in Rotterdam, with the group B winners taking on the runners-up of Group A, which includes the Orange Lionesses.
