Rinus, the KNVB's online trainer platform, has won another international award. On Monday, KNVB president Frank Paauw received the Silver FIFA Forward Award from his FIFA colleague Gianni Infantino. This once again gives Rinus international recognition as an innovative tool for the development of youth and amateur soccer.

Rinus was launched in 2017. Trainers were given free access to hundreds of exercises and ready-made training schedules via the platform. Since then, Rinus has undergone a lot of further development. Through the tool on KNVB Assist and the accompanying mobile app, soccer coaches can find inspiration at any time of the day to help youth soccer players enjoy what they love most: playing soccer.

UEFA Grassroots

In 2020, Rinus also took second place in the UEFA Grassroots Awards in the ‘projects’ category. That award was created to highlight exceptional and progressive soccer projects.

This success has not gone unnoticed internationally either, making Rinus, in cooperation with other football associations, available in several countries.

FIFA Forward Awards

Last year, the KNVB won first prize in the prestigious FIFA Forward Awards. This recognition was awarded for the new competition formats the KNVB recently introduced for youth players aged 6 to 12. The FIFA Forward Award highlights the commitment and innovation of the KNVB in developing (youth) soccer in the Netherlands.

Honored and proud

Naturally, we as KNVB are very honoured and proud of this international recognition, but that does not mean we are sitting still. It only gives us extra motivation to keep innovating and supporting our members in the best possible way. We will use the coming period to map out and implement various improvements around Rinus and our further digital offering.

The focus will be on a fine user experience and offering an even more relevant and personalised range of our products, services and content. Of course, we are always open to feedback. You can therefore get in touch with us via Rinus to share your opinions and ideas.
