Women's National Team

History  

On September 23, 1956, the Dutch women's team played a match for the first time. In Essen, Germany won 2-1. The games weren't official yet. The same applied in a game against France on April 17, 1971 (4-0 loss). On November 9, 1973, the Orange squad played under the KNVB flag for the first time. England won 1-0. The first victory followed six months later against Switzerland: 0-3. 

The Dutch women's team has grown enormously in recent years. With the absolute highlight of winning the European Championship title during the European Championship Women 2017 in our own country. Since then the Women's Dutch national teams have had a strong run and are heading to the European championship In England during the summer of 2022.
