Men's National Team

History

The Dutch national team (Oranje) has been in existence since 1905. Since then, the team has played many international matches and experienced great successes. The absolute highlight is the win of the European Championship in Germany in 1988.

The Dutch national team played its first international match on April 30, 1905, friendly against Belgium. The Orange squad won 1-4 after extra time. At the time, the Olympics was the main goal. The Netherlands was particularly successful in the early years. Bronze medals were won in 1908, 1912 and 1920.
