REFSIX, an app for referees, is the latest KNVB-supported product. This means that the KNVB has tested this product and recommends it.
With the app, available for smartwatches and smartphones, referees can keep track of all match administration digitally: time, extra time, goals, cards, time penalties and substitutions. In addition, the app can measure performance statistics when used on a smartwatch: distance covered, heat map, sprints, etc. It is now also possible to import KNVB amateur football (field) matches directly into the Refsix account. This is not yet possible for futsal matches.
‘This collaboration aims to support our referees with tools that make their work easier,’ says Michael ter Riet, head of amateur football refereeing at the KNVB. ‘We had Refsix extensively tested by dozens of Dutch referees in 2024 and 2025 and used their feedback to further develop the app.’ The KNVB believes that Refsix makes refereeing matches easier and more enjoyable for referees.
For example, KNVB matches can be added directly to the app, and REFSIX has tailored the “substitutions” functionality to Dutch substitution rules, allowing referees to register multiple substitutions at once. Hassan Rajwani, CEO of REFSIX: 'We are excited to improve the experience for Dutch referees. We have focused on reducing the administrative workload for referees so that they can concentrate on what is most important: refereeing the match.'
If you decide to use REFSIX as a referee, you enter into a direct relationship with REFSIX. The KNVB is not a party to this relationship. If you have any questions about the product, please contact REFSIX customer service. The most frequently asked questions can be found here (in Dutch).
