After a long implementation phase, WorldCoaches department began with the new Shiraka programme in August 2022. Shiraka, which means partnership in Arabic, is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. With a total funding of almost five million euros, this is our largest programme to date. Over the next few years, 650 new WorldCoaches will be trained spread across Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan.

Within the Shiraka programme, we target young people who normally have little or no access to educational opportunities and sport activities. These target groups are trained as WorldCoaches so that they are better able to contribute to their social environment, increase their participation in society and have a greater chance of finding paid work.
