Last week the KNVB was part of the Soccerex Americas conference in Miami to present the international strategy: ‘Reinventing Football’. Secretary-general Gijs de Jong and head of international strategy Nicole Bekkers joined the stage together with Oranje legend Dirk Kuyt to inspire the audience with Dutch football and its innovations.
They showed the audience how we achieve great things as a small country by thinking big. This way of thinking together with our innovation ecosystem can be of benefit for football development in the US. “The presentation was well received by the audience and the SportsNL Café filled up with federations, leagues and clubs who wanted to talk more about our innovations like the eQuality index and coaching tool Rinus” explains Gijs de Jong.
Together with some of the best Dutch companies in sports tech and innovation like the Johan Cruyff Arena, SciSports and Dotcomsport the KNVB represented SportNL in Miami. Not only did these SportNL companies inspired the US, but the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Miami made sure the US inspired SportNL as well by organizing several site visits in Miami. These visits included Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium, Nova Southeastern University and Inter Miami CF.
Soccerex Americas was only the start of creating a bridge between the football industry in the Netherlands and the US. For more information about ‘Reinventing Football’ you can visit knvb.com/reinventingfootball.
