A delegation from the Mexican Football Federation FMF visited the KNVB two weeks ago. They got a look behind the scenes of the KNVB Campus and visited the Nations League match between Netherlands and Germany at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

The visit came about through FIFA. The world football association has the online training programme FIFA Digital Skills. As the Mexican football federation was the most active on this programme, they were rewarded by FIFA with a visit to the KNVB.

Both representatives of the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol Asociación (FMF) were given an inside look at the KNVB Campus. The focus was on topics such as strategy, innovation, fan engagement and women's soccer. The group also traveled to Amsterdam where they attended a presentation followed by a tour of the Johan Cruijff ArenA. The international working visit ended with the Nations League match between the Netherlands and Germany.

Mexico is hosting the 2026 World Cup in two years' time, together with the United States and Canada. The working visit not only led to new insights for the representatives of the Mexican Football Federation, it was also useful for the KNVB and allowed it to learn from the Mexican approach on several topics.

Innovative vision

The KNVB stands for a stable and transparent football world. As one of the original founders of FIFA, we feel a responsibility to keep innovating and developing football. That includes sharing our innovative vision with other football associations. In this way, we help football move forward together.
