The KNVB is breaking new ground in the world of fan experience by introducing The Oranje Beat collectibles during the upcoming Women's World Cup. The KNVB is the first Dutch sports association to offer its fans a unique digital experience that allows for even greater interaction and engagement. From now on, supporters of the national women's team can obtain unique digital collectibles that grant exclusive access to behind-the-scenes footage and special promotions.
The Oranje Beat collectibles are digital badges that are launched ahead of each World Cup match. Besides watching unique and exclusive content, “Beat Makers” also have a chance to win special prizes, ranging from signed jerseys to a digital meet-and-greet with the team. Starting 24 hours before each match (Dutch time), fans can easily claim the collectibles via theoranjebeat.nl. Each badge contains new prizes and exclusive content.
The Oranje Beat collectibles are made available on the blockchain via NFTs. This means fans get to own their collections. Participation requires no technical know-how and is as easy as signing up with an email address, after which a unique wallet is automatically generated for every fan. At this stage, it is not possible to trade the collectibles. With this innovative loyalty platform, the KNVB is breaking new ground in the world of Dutch sports and taking a major step in the development of fan engagement.
"We are proud to be the first sports association in the Netherlands to take this step", says Dave Dekker, the KNVB's Director of Commerce. "With the introduction of The Oranje Beat collectibles and the use of blockchain technology, we are creating a new form of engagement that is unique in the world of Dutch sports. This innovative loyalty platform allows fans to develop a personal connection with the Dutch national women's team during this historical World Cup. We hope that these digital collectibles will bring fans even closer to the team and offer them an unforgettable experience."
Sherida Spitse, captain of the Dutch national women's team, is equally excited about the new digital badges: "It is amazing to see the KNVB go the extra mile to give our supporters unique ways of taking part in our adventure so far away from home. Collecting The Oranje Beat Collectibles is a unique way to stay involved and not miss anything. We are thrilled with the support from our fans and hope to see many Beat Makers join us on our World Cup adventure."
