International programs

At the KNVB we’re one of the frontrunners when it comes to football development. Our expertise is where player and coach development meet. Well-educated coaches are a critical success factor for creating the best talents on the pitch. Therefore, we have a close collaboration with leagues and clubs for scouting talent. And next to that, the KNVB monitors all youth development programs at professional football clubs for more than 20 years.

Coaching programs

Every football team deserves a qualified coach. Each year, the KNVB trains thousands of new (international) trainers and coaches, at every level, from youth trainer to professional manager.

Training and coaching are mostly learned by doing. For this reason, the KNVB combines practical sessions with (online) theory sessions. Some of our tools and programs for coach development are stated below:

  • Rinus Football app: This award winning tool is an online assist for all (youth) coaches based on the principles of Dutch football.
  • Masterclasses & Webinars: Throughout the year we organize (online) masterclasses & webinars on several football development topics.
  • International Coaching Course
  • Tailor-made coaching programs: We have over 10 years of experience in creating tailormade coaching programs for international partners.
  • KNVB WorldCoaches: We leverage the social and community strength of football to improve the living environment of children in developing countries.

Development programs

The KNVB opts for innovation and development to make football on the pitch more fun and more attractive. In order to ensure that everyone continues to enjoy football, it is important to experiment with innovation and rules that make the game more attractive. Some of our tools and programs for common football development challenges:

  • eQuality Index: Using data to know the strength and quality of every grassroots player and team.
  • Head of Youth Development programs
  • Referee programs
