The Dutch team doesn’t only has fans in the Netherlands. During the upcoming World Cup in Qatar millions of people from Indonesia will also be cheering for the team of Louis van Gaal. That is why the KNVB will host the first edition of the ‘Oranje Indonesia Festival’ on the 21st of November in Jakarta.
At the festival visitors can enjoy watching Holland – Senegal on a big screen while being entertained with live music which will set the typical Dutch football vibe.
With the event the KNVB wants to show its appreciation for the suport from Indonesia over the years. Whenever the Dutch team plays an international tournament, streets in Indonesia turn into a sea of Orange.
That is why the ‘Oranje Indonesia Festival’ fits right into the international fan strategy of the KNVB. Apart from the event fans from Indonesia will be held up to date with all the news of the team by socials especially designed for them. They can also visit football clinics and buy merchandise tailor made for their country.

During the World Cup there will also be fan events in The Netherlands. For this purpose the Johan Cruijff Arena will temporarily turn into Het Huis van Oranje. At the stadium 55.000 football fans will be able to watch the games together on a giant screen of almost 6,5 square feet. Aside from the games visitors can enjoy performances by several top artists and acts.
