From December 3 to 14, the KNVB gave thirteen coaches from the Chinese Football Association (CFA) a unique insight into Dutch football. The visit is a result of years of cooperation between the football associations and is in line with KNVB's international strategy in which connection, cooperation and knowledge exchange are key components.

During the Coaches Tour, the Chinese participants followed an intensive programme. This included a multi-day stay at PSV, AZ and the KNVB. In each of these venues, various experts shared their vision and methods.

Match visit

On Saturdays, the coaches visited various youth matches of PSV and AZ which allowed them to observe the development of young talents in practice. In addition, the Chinese delegation visited the Eredivisie match PSV - FC Twente and Jong AZ - FC Emmen in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. This gave them the opportunity to experience the style of play and dynamics in Dutch football up close.

Furthermore, the delegation visited vv IJsselmeervogels to gain better insights on amateur football. In Spakenburg, they received a detailed explanation on the vision and approach of this club.

Cooperation between KNVB and CFA

The KNVB and the CFA have maintained a good cooperation for years. As recently as November 29, for example, both women's teams faced each other in Rotterdam for a friendly match. The coaches' visit strengthens the ties between the associations and underlines the dedication of both organisations to jointly bring football to a higher level.

The Tour is part of the International Academy, a new training initiative of the KNVB. This label offers customised programs for international soccer associations, leagues, clubs and confederations.
